Job Overview:
Faith Memorial Missionary Baptist Church is seeking a dependable, nurturing, and organized Nursery Lead to oversee the care and supervision of infants and young children during worship services. This role ensures a safe, welcoming, and spiritually enriching environment while coordinating nursery volunteers and maintaining ministry standards.
Required Skills:
• Childcare Awareness: Ability to provide attentive, nurturing, and age-appropriate care for infants and young children
• Safety & Attentiveness: Strong awareness of child safety procedures, supervision, and environmental cleanliness
• Organization: Ability to coordinate schedules, manage nursery flow, and maintain structured routines
• Communication: Ability to interact warmly and professionally with parents, volunteers, and ministry leadership
• Leadership & Team Support: Ability to guide, support, and work effectively with nursery volunteers
• Dependability: Consistent reliability, punctuality, and preparedness for worship services
• Patience & Compassion: Calm, nurturing demeanor when working with children
Qualifications:
• Experience working with infants and/or young children (church, childcare, school, or similar setting preferred)
• Demonstrated ability to maintain a safe, structured, and nurturing environment
• Strong organizational and coordination skills
• Dependable, punctual, and consistent in attendance
• Ability to work effectively with volunteers and ministry leadership
• Warm, patient, and compassionate demeanor
• Ability to follow established church policies and child safety procedures
Supervisory Responsibilities:
The Nursery Lead will report to the Youth Ministry Leader and Pastor and does not have direct supervisory or team leadership responsibilities.The role may occasionally involve coordinating specific events or projects. Must be able to work independently and exercise impeccable judgment.
